As often as possible we join Aikido or other martial arts related events, mostly in Japan, Tokyo and Kyoto, but also in other places around the world. Always full of new impressions after seminars, we want to share with you what we learned, post pictures and write about the experiences we made. However, it is not always about going to seminars and standing on the mats ourselves. Many events take place, some of them annually held tin Tokyo: Be it the visit of the birthplace of O’Sensei, the Aiki Shrine Festival or the All Japan Aikido Demonstration, only to mention two of them, we keep you up to date and let you be part of it.
Every year, in memory of Emperor Meiji, one of the biggest martial arts demonstrations in Japan takes place, at the so called “Meiji Shrine Yabusame Taikai“. Honoring both, the Emperor Meiji and the gods enshrined at the Meiji Shrine, the event is held in the form of an ancient ceremony that dates back hundreds of years ago.
